The short version
- Little Explorers collects no personal information about your child or you.
- There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is shared with anyone.
- The app works offline. It doesn't send anything about how it is used to us or to anyone else.
This policy covers the Little Explorers app for iPhone, iPad and Android and this website, playlittleexplorers.com. Little Explorers is made by Dave Wheatcroft ("we", "us") in the United Kingdom. It is made for children aged about 2 to 6, and is designed to meet the rules of Apple's Kids category, Google Play's Families policy, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, the UK GDPR and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
What the app collects
Nothing. The app does not ask for, collect or send any personal information: no names, ages, email addresses, photos, voice recordings, location, contacts or device identifiers. It has no sign-in, no chat, no links out to social media and no way for children to share anything.
The app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it does not use the advertising identifier.
What the app keeps on the device
The app remembers two small settings, stored only on your device and never sent anywhere:
- whether the sound is switched off, and
- whether the "every world" unlock has been bought, so the worlds stay open when you are offline.
Deleting the app removes them.
Purchases
The Space world is free. The other worlds can be unlocked with a single one-off in-app purchase, which can only be reached by a grown-up through a parental gate. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. We never see your name, payment details or account; the store only tells the app whether the unlock has been bought, so it can open the worlds and restore them on your other devices.
This website
playlittleexplorers.com does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and has no forms. Like any website, the company that hosts it may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for a short time for security and to keep the site running; we don't use them to identify anyone.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed. Please don't send us any information about your child.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing to review, correct or delete. If you think we have received information about a child by mistake (for example in an email), contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information about you, such as the right to see it or have it deleted. As we hold none from the app, there is usually nothing to request, but you are welcome to ask. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. We will never start collecting personal information from children.
